Obituary of Perla Mae Cantler
Perla Mae Cantler, age 87, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on September 11, 2024. Born in Wilmington, DE, Perla later resided in Newark before settling in Lewes. She worked as a keypunch operator for Avon Products and retired after many years of dedicated service.
Perla was a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of the Midway Assembly of God Church in Lewes. In her earlier years, she enjoyed crocheting and reading, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick H. Allen and Perla L. Halter Allen; her grandson, Scott Stone; her brother-in-law, William Baker and Robert Cantler, sister-in-law, Margaret DiBonis and Patricia Cantler, and her Aunt, Zeida Carter, who was like a mother to her.
Perla is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Charles "Charlie" J. Cantler; her son, William Stone Sr. (Debbie); her daughter, Donna M. DiMarco (Joseph); her stepson, Preston Ridgley (Barbara); her stepdaughter, Edith "Charlie" (Larry) Duke; her 37 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, sister, Barbara Baker, and brother-in-law, Milton Cantler. The family would like to thank the two best caregivers, Debbie Chilaris and Tori Hall.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA. An additional visitation will take place on Monday, September 23, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the same location. Interment will be held privately.
