Obituary of Darlene Lynch
Darlene Morelli Lynch, 72, of Aston, PA, passed away at her home on September 18, 2024. Born to James and Cherlyn (Sherry) Morelli in Chester, PA, Darlene has resided in Aston her entire life.
She is a graduate of Sun Valley High School, Class of 1970. Devoted to her faith, Darlene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her love for music shone through her passion for dancing, and playing the piano, while her culinary skills brought joy to all family gatherings. She enjoyed reading, a good cup of coffee, long days spent on the beach or by the pool, and taking long walks. Before her marriage and children, Darlene worked at Penn Central as a receptionist and was crowned Miss Penn Central in 1972-1973. After becoming a mother, Darlene cherished, above all else, the moments spent with her daughters and grandchildren. She also loved spending time with her family in North Wildwood, NJ. Darlene’s life was dedicated to taking care of her loved ones, especially her mother, daughters, and grandchildren. Darlene’s life’s work was taking care of the people she loved. She was kind, caring, loving, compassionate and a dedicated friend. She found joy in making others happy. She was always smiling and laughing. Darlene visited at least one of her daughters, and her grandchildren daily. Even though she had a number of health struggles, she still prioritized everyone else’s needs above her own; and she made sure everyone had a full plate of food. When she visited, you knew she would bring an excess of your favorite treat, even if you said not to. Her thoughts and actions were full of love for others and providing comfort to anyone that needed it. In short, she was someone that everyone was very lucky to know.
Darlene is survived by her two daughters, Lea (John) Hyland and Jocelyn (Terrence) Cassidy; brother, Louis Morelli; sister, Patrice (Jim) Beail; her beloved grandchildren, Bradan, Sophia, and Olivia Hyland; her dear nieces Jennifer, Erica, and Alexis; her former husband, John Lynch, whom she remained friends with, as well as many beloved cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 9:15 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA, followed by a Eulogy at 10:45 AM then a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darlene’s memory may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center (www.foxchase.org).
