Obituary of Jemiq Seapan
Jemiq "Jemma" Seapan, 84, of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 25, 2024, at Rose Court in Maris Grove Senior Living Community. Born in Iran in an Armenian Christian family to Andranik Hayrapetian and Novard Rosa Siroyan, Jemma moved to the United States in 1970. She spent the past six years residing in Glen Mills, PA, following twenty-two years in Landenberg, PA, seventeen years in Oklahoma, and six years in Texas.
Known for her remarkable linguistic skills, Jemma spoke eight languages. She enjoyed reading, particularly French books, with her book clubs. Family, children, and grandchildren were the center of her life. She also delighted in gardening, healthy eating, cooking with her grandchildren, quilling, and hosting international students during holidays. She was a member of the University of Delaware Osher Academy of Lifelong Learning and had a deep appreciation for music. Jemma earned her bachelor’s degree in Literature from the University of Tabriz in Iran, and last worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Arts and Sciences Research Office of Oklahoma State University, for 16 years.
Jemma was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband, Mayis Seapan; her son, Arnold Seapan (Paula); her daughter, Annie Mack (Torsten); her sister, Anoosh Pezeshkian (Vigen); her brother, Georgik Hayrapetian (Doris); her niece, Natalie Truly; her nephew, Greg Hayrapetian; and her cherished grandchildren: Alec, Emma, Isabel, and Dylan.
A private service will be held at this time.
