Obituary of Antimo Varriale

Antimo "Andy" Varriale, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at the age of 70. He was surrounded by family and loved ones at the time of his death.

Born in Napoli, Italia, on March 13, 1954, Antimo immigrated to the United States at a young age, eventually settling in West Chester Pennsylvania, where he would go on to build a life rich with love, laughter, and connection. His family, friends, and community were always at the heart of everything he did.

Andy was known for his warm smile, sense of humor, and deep devotion to those he loved. A man of integrity and kindness, he touched the lives of all who knew him. For over 40 years, he was a proud fixture in the West Chester community, where he earned a reputation as a skilled chef and restaurateur. His love for others was evident in his eagerness to host or cook for any event, big or small. There was nothing Andy enjoyed more than preparing meals for those he cared about, often preparing large family feasts that became legendary for their flavor and heart.

Beyond his culinary talents, Andy was a man of many abilities, with a remarkable aptitude for quickly mastering new skills. His keen business sense and entrepreneurial spirit were key to his success, allowing him to build a thriving career and establish a reputation for the high level of quality he kept in everything he did.

Antimo is preceded in death by his parents, Vincenzo Varriale and Maria Capuano; and his three siblings, Anna Varriale, Lucia Esposito and Giuseppe Varriale. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Anna Marie (née D'Ambro); four children, Vincenzo (Ashley), Diana (Edward) Bienick, Michael and Marco; eight grandchildren, Antimo, Gabriella, Vincenzo, Luca, William, Vivianna, Brayden and Olivia; two sisters, Assunta (Giacomo Sessa) and Antonietta (Luigi Schiano Di Cola) Varriale; his sister-in-law, Barbara (Dwight) Mutschler; and many more who will forever remember his generosity and infectious spirit.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Chadds Ford on Friday, January 3rd, 2025 at 11:30AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Cornelius from 9:00AM to 11:15AM for visitation prior to the mass. Internment will remain private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org), in honor of his brave fight and the many lives he touched. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.

Antimo will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, humor, and dedication to his family and friends will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
