Obituary of William Ashby Blake Jr.

William Ashby Blake, Jr.

Age 77, of Upper Chichester, PA, passed away at home on December 31, 2024.

Born to William Blake Sr. and Nelly Pace in Chester, PA, William had resided in Upper Chichester for the past 43 years, also living in Delaware and Florida. A devoted Drug and Alcohol Counselor, William had a deep passion for helping others, particularly in his 34 years of sobriety, which he celebrated in November of this year.

William had a love for music, especially the organ. He played at church, and his talents as a traveling organist took him to many bars up and down the East Coast.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Blake (2019), his son, Bill Blake (who passed December 2024), and his brother, Robert Blake (who passed in 2021). He is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Blake and Holly Blake.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2024, from 9:30-11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Ogden, 2446 Mill Rd. Boothwyn PA  19061 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Ogden.
