Obituary of Michael W. Albosta

Michael W. Albosta, age 82, of N. Wilmington, DE passed away on January 4, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington. Born and reared in Pittsburgh, PA, Michael has resided in N. Wilmington and Virginia since 1973. Mike served his country proudly in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a graduate of Duquesne University. He was employed with Columbia Gas as a financial analyst for almost forty years. Mike was an avid Steelers fan. He also enjoyed bird watching, reading, music, and he had a love for the game of golf. Preceded in death by his father, Stephen Albosta, his first mother, Sophie Mutieziewski Albosta and his second mother, Martha Gill Albosta, as well as his brother, Christopher Albosta. Mike is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Ann vonGeis Albosta, three loving daughters, Elizabeth (Matthew) Allen, Jennifer (Daniel) Ehlert and Meghann Albosta as well as, seven adoring grandchildren, Haylie, Matt, Caleb, Emily, William, Jocelyn and Henry. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 9, from 9:45-10:45 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington, DE followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment, St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. A luncheon reception to follow at the Talleyville Fire Hall, 3919 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE.
