Obituary of Catherine A Tyson

Catherine Healy Tyson, age 81, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on January 18, 2025, at Paoli Hospital. Born to Gilbert Joseph and Margaret Reilly Ferkler, Kate was raised in S.W. Philadelphia, PA. She has resided for over 60 years in Garnet Valley, PA. Kate was employed in the jewelry department at QVC in West Chester, PA. Devoted to her Catholic faith, she was a Church of the Holy Child member in Wilmington, DE. Kate was a member of AKC, where she bred miniature Schnauzers. She had a lifelong love of horses and farm life. In addition to her parents, Kate is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Joseph Healy Sr., and her brothers, Thomas Ferkler, and Joseph Ferkler. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Wilbur P. Tyson, 4 children, Catherine (Craig) Warner, Joseph (Renee) Healy, Jr., Benjamin (Theresa) Tyson, and Morgan Tyson, a sister, Agnes (Thomas) Reeder, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, from 9:30-10:45 AM at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., Wilmington, DE, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
