Obituary of Paula A. Blessley

Paula A. Blessley (née Tuvesson) of Bethel Township, PA, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, at the age of 89. Born February 1, 1935, in Simrishamn, Sweden, she was raised in Linwood, PA, and graduated from Ridley Park High School. She was a 70-year resident of Bethel Township and a long-time member of Siloam United Methodist Church. Paula was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

 

She is survived by her children Beverly Blessley Brunner, Glenn Blessley, and Greg Blessley (wife Misty); her grandchildren Samuel Brunner (wife Jacqueline), Steven Brunner, Emily Blessley, Elizabeth Blessley, and Samantha Blessley; her great-granddaughter Josephine Brunner; her brother Tuve Tuvesson; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Paula was predeceased by her beloved husband Samuel W. Blessley in 1988, her son-in-law Russell Brunner in 2020, her sister-in-law Inga Tuvesson in 2022, and her granddaughter Stephanie Brunner in 2023.

 

Paula's life was defined by her love of family, and she was a constant source of support, stability, and affection for those she loved. She enjoyed crafting, reading, puzzles of all kinds, and volunteered as a tour guide for many years at Tyler Arboretum. Paula traveled throughout Europe, Australia, and all around the United States, and enjoyed many summers at the cherished family beach house in South Point, MD. She will be remembered fondly for her warmth, humor, and kindness.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to celebrate Paula's life on Saturday, February 1, at 11 a.m. at Silverbrook Cemetery and Memorial Park in Wilmington, DE. A luncheon will follow, with details to be shared at the service.
