Obituary of Joseph W. Twardowski
Joseph W. Twardowski of Boothwyn PA died peacefully on January 29, 2016. Born, raised and educated in Chester PA, he was the son of the late Walter and Stella. He graduated from St. Hedwig's Elementary School, St. James High School and attended Pennsylvania Military College Evening Division. Joseph worked at American Viscose Corporation, Marcus Hook and was also employed by Sun Ship, Inc., Chester.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was pre-deceased by his sisters, Hedwig, Wanda and Fay; brothers, Stanley, Chester and Walter, Jr.; sister-in-law's, Josephine and Dolly Twardowski and brother-in-law's Matthew Pollick and Joseph Pascela. Additionally, Joseph has many surviving nephews and nieces in addition to many relatives in Poland. Joseph was a veteran and served our country abroad during the Korean War. He was a life-long member of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Chester where he was a lector at mass reading in both Polish and English. He belonged to the St. Hedwig's Polish Heritage Society, the Humane Society, the Council of Polish Society of Chester, the Polish National Alliance, the American Legion Post 546 and the Upper Chichester Senior Citizens.
Joseph's viewing will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 8:30AM-9:45AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. Mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Chester at 10:30AM followed by interment at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Linwood.
