Pete Pagano was like the older brother I never had. He gave me my first job at 13, working in his restaurant, later, he gave me the money to buy my first car. While it was being repaired, he loaned me his brand new Chrysler Imperial, to use to deliver food from the restaurant. When I wanted to try out for the baseball team at school, I could not hit a ball to save my life, Pete was a great baseball player, 2nd base, all City Champion from Overbrook, 1950, I believe. He spent time with me teaching me how to hit, I made the team. I lost touch with him, but several yeras ago, before he got sick, I had the chance to re-connet with him, and introduce hime to my wife. He had the same quick wit, big smile, and was so proud of his family, particulalrly Chuck and Pete Jr. I almost forgot, when my father was starting his own business, he went up to the store and wanted to get Pete's advice. Pete spent two hours with him, ordred up dinner, and gave my father the confidence and inspiration to do it. I wanted to share these memories with his family and everyone, but I am not telling anyone, anythng they do not know already. It is true, anyone who met or knew Pete, became his friend. The world was a better place with him in it, but I take comfort in knowing that he is with Uncle Charley and Aunt Mary, God Bless his Soul and he rest in peace forever. Jeff Rapkin
