Obituary of Armando Maddesi
Armando Maddesi, age 82 of Chadds Ford, PA passed away peacefully on May 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at home. Born to the late Joseph & Ida Cippolini Maddesi in Abruzzi, Italy, Armando Immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 16 settling in Woodlyn, PA. He has resided in Chadds Ford for the past 20 years, previously Wallingford, PA. Armando served in the U.S. Army in his younger years during peacetime. He was employed and retired from Wawa where he worked 30 years as a truck driver. After retiring, Armando then worked for the Garnet Valley School District as a bus driver for 10 years. He was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church. In his earlier years he was an avid bowler and belonged to several leagues in the area. He also enjoyed his summers in Rehoboth Beach as well as boating, crabbing and fishing. Armando will be sadly missed by his granddogs, Ruby, Tory and Dakota. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Tina Manera Maddesi, children, Donna (Joseph) Yeager, Theresa Tullis & Joseph (Laurie) Maddesi, 2 brothers, Venturi & Gilberto Maddesi, a sister, Fiora Miller & 7 grandchildren, Melissa & Andrew Yeager, Kirsten (Mark) Nakanishi, Meaghan & Stephanie Tullis, Anthony Maddesi & Colin Davis. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, 8:30-9:45AM at St. Cornelius Church, 160 Ridge Rd., Chadds Ford, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM. Interment will be held privately.
