Obituary of Emil J. Costagliola
Emil J. Costagliola, age 90 of Newtown Square, PA died on October 25, 2017 at Park Lane at Bellingham, West Chester, PA. Born to the late John & Lucretia Francesco Costagliola in S. Philadelphia, Emil resided in Newtown Square for the past 15 years previously residing in Springfield, PA. He graduated from Upper Darby, class of 1944 and received his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from Temple University & PMC (Widener University). He served in the Army during WWII. A Chemist by trade, he was employed by E.F. Houghton & Co. from 1960-1972 and later for Harry Miller from 1972-1989 when he retired. Emil was a member of St. Anastasia Church. He was an avid sports fan & also played baseball for 60 years, tennis for over 50 years, including this past year and picked up the game of golf in 1991, playing as recently as this year. Emil enjoyed traveling including Naples, Fl, 3 visits to Hawaii, and several visits to Europe with his wife. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. Campo Costagliola who passed away last month, September 30th, a son, James Costagliola who died in 2004 and a sister, Rosemarie Hresko. Emil is survived by 3 children, Bob (Randy Amgyen) Costagliola, Carol (Paul Bey) Topolski & Diane (Joe) Riffitts, 5 grandchildren, Matthew (Brandy), Michael (Eden) & Olivia Topolski, Neil (Emily) Riffitts & Nicolas Riffitts and 2 great grandchildren, Kayleigh & Lillian Topolski. A visitation will be held on Saturday, 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral Services at 11:00AM. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Donations in Emil's memory may be made to American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
