Obituary of Herbert J. Keating

Herbert J. Keating Jr., age 92, of Glen Mills, PA passed away on June 7, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Herbert J. and Mary Goebel Keating, Herb graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School. He served in the Army during WWII and afterwards graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute where he received his Chemical Engineering degree. Herb was a Chemical Engineer for several oil companies including ARCO, BP and Sun Oil retiring in the late 1990's. He has resided in Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA for the past 4 years previously residing in Chadds Ford and Springfield, PA. Herb was devoted to his faith and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Glen Mills where he served at one time on the Vestry committee. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Vail Keating, two sons, Herbert J. Keating III, MD and wife Mary Jo, and Gregory V. Keating, DMD, 5 grandchildren, Anne Scherer and husband Adam, Jane Keating and partner Kelly, Anthony Keating, Ross Keating and Seth Keating, two great grandchildren, Susanna and Elizabeth and a brother, Gerald Keating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 10-11am at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am. Interment will be held privately at St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery.
