To the family, I am a volunteer at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and in that role I was introduced to Edith while she was still in independent living and visited her there three times(?) before she moved to the personal care area. When she moved, I helped her get settled and continued my Wednesday afternoon visits with her. I hope that she enjoyed my visits as much as I did. We found many things to talk about and discovered several unusual connections. One of them was particularly interesting in that, as a girl, her family visited a tiny town on the Eastern Shore called East New Market where my maternal grandmother lived! She always enjoyed the visits and phone calls from her niece, granddaughters and their children, and especially calls and cards from Steve. I am so sorry she didn't make it to her goal of reaching 100 but I'm glad she didn't linger in pain and discomfort. My time spent with her was a privilege and so enjoyable. I will miss her and offer all of you my sincerest condolences for your loss.
