Obituary of Derek E. Reczek

Derek "Doc" E. Reczek, age 54, passed away suddenly on October 12, 2018 at home. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Derek has resided in Delaware most of his life. He previously was employed by the State of Delaware with the Division of Revenue. Derek was quite active, whether he was riding his Harley Davidson, listening to his favorite radio station, WIP 610, bowling or watching his cartoons and sports. He was also a member of the Lower Chichester Fire Co. where he once served as president. Derek enjoyed visiting his family's home in Maryland. In addition to his parents, Henry and Doris Simmons Reczek, he is preceded in death by 2 siblings, Debbie Parks and David Reczek. Derek is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda L. Reczek, a stepson and his wife, Robert and Katie Edwards, and 5 siblings, Diana Rookey, Donna Reczek, Donald Reczek, Denise Williams, and Dawn Laderer. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 5:00-7:00PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by services at 7:00PM. Interment will remain private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doc's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
