Obituary of Forrest Leon Magruder

Forrest Leon Magruder Jr., age 80, formerly of Aldan, PA, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2018 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Rockville, MD, Leon resided for the past 6 years at the Maris Grove community in Glen Mills, PA. Leon graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School, Baltimore MD and attended Drexel Institute of Technology and St. Joseph College, Philadelphia, PA.  Having spent many years working in the printing industry, Leon retired as a print manager from Hahnemann University Hospital.  Leon had a passion for photography and cooking and had a legendary sense of humor.  In his later years, he stayed active in the Maris Grove community belonging to the photography and Italian-American clubs.  Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Leon Sr. and Lucile Weaver Magruder. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annette Marino Magruder, 4 sons, Michael Magruder (Ardyth Schaffer), Mark Magruder (Maryanne), John Magruder (Jennifer), and Patrick Magruder (Stephanie), a beloved sister, Margaret "Peggy" Newman, and a devoted grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service in Leon's honor will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00AM at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA where friends may call from 10-11AM. Interment will remain private. Donations in Leon's memory may be made to Mt. St. Joseph High School, 4403 Frederick Ave., Baltimore, MD 21229 or to the charity of one's choice.
