Obituary of Shirley Eileen Meyers

Shirley Eileen (Doering) Meyers, age 88, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Seabrook Island, SC, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born to Stephen and Ina Beck Doering in Duluth, MN, she graduated from Houghton High School and the Business School of Suomi College in Hancock, MI. Shirley enjoyed tennis, walking on the beach, swimming in the ocean, working in her garden, baking, entertaining, traveling the world, and especially spending time with her family. Survived by her husband of 68 years, Peter, her son Steve, his wife Pat, their children Alyssa, Ariel, Lucy and Anna, daughter Wendy, her husband Tim Chestnut, their children Jason, Jordan and Dylan, daughter Linda, her husband David Miller, their children Drew and Erin, daughter Elizabeth, her husband Steve Soto, their children Lily, Rosemary and Frances as well as 3 Great Grandchildren. A visitation will be held on November 23, 2018, 10-11AM at the Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA followed by a Memorial service at 11AM. Interment will remain private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Maris Grove Resident Care Fund, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA, 19342.
