Obituary of Marcelle L. Fresco

Marcelle Fresco, age 78, of Glen Mills, PA passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2018. She was born and raised in Paris, France, was married in Manchester, England and came to the United States in 1962 initially settling in Wilmington, DE. After moving with her family to Chattanooga, TN and Martinsville, VA, they returned to this area in 1981 living in Chadds Ford, PA before she and her husband moved to Maris Grove about 18 months ago. Marcelle's first priority was always her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She was generous in giving her time to help friends and others in her community. Marcelle was incredibly creative, loved art, and pursued her passion for learning by attending OLLI at the University of Delaware where she delighted in contributing to classes in French literature, and writing about interesting episodes in her life. Upon arriving in the states, she became a member of the Occidentals, a social club in Wilmington that brought together people from around the world who became her lifelong friends. Marcelle is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Yvonne Leroy. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Albert Fresco, 2 children, David and Brigitte Fresco and 2 grandchildren, Nicholas and Maddie. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 4, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA where friends may call 1 hour prior. Interment will be held privately at the Silverbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcelle's memory may be made to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A St., Wilmington, DE 19801 (www.delawarehumane.org).
