My heart is broken for all of you. I will remember Dan as a kind, thoughtful, funny soul. My tears are in his honor. Your wedding here on the Sassafras River at my home is still a wonderful memory. You and your family have weathered many storms since then but love was always the thread that held you all together. From a distance I could follow along a little even though our families took different paths. I feel the pain of your loss and want to believe your family will stay close and surround you when the stars leave the sky. Dan will return every new moon to fill your heart with his light. I cannot begin to express how sad I am with Dan's passing. Every time I play backgammon, I will remember the teasing he did while he patiently taught me... (and beat me mercilessly!). I have so many fun memories of skiing, playing games at the beach house and on the beach. His smile and smirk and his warm 'welcome-ness' to everyone is in evidence in his massive number of friends and huge extended family who have always held him close. Dan was so happy last year with the extension of his family last year when baby Justin Jr. was born. 2018 was a really rough year for Dan as well as for all of us. I just hope he knows how much we all love him and are thinking about him and the wonderful times we shared. My warmest love to you all. XOXOXOXOXOXO
