Obituary of Charles J. McNamara

Charles J. McNamara, age 78 of Wilmington, DE passed away on February 10, 2019 at Wilmington Hospital. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he resided for the past 18 years in Wilmington, DE, previously residing in Ridley Park, PA. Charles was an engineer working for the Steam Fitters Local 835 University of Pennsylvania for over 27 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3132 and enjoyed his home and family. Charles served in the Navy during peacetime. He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Violet and Eugene McDevitt, father and stepmother, Jerome and Helen McNamara, wife, Mary G. McMenamin McNamara who passed in September 2018 and sister, Judy Parsons. Charles is survived by 3 sons, Michael, Philip and David McNamara, siblings, Gerald McNamara, Kathy Swanson and Paul McNamara and step sister, Barbara Scrupskis. A visitation will be held on Friday, 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by funeral liturgy at 11AM. Interment, S.S.
