Obituary of Vernon J. Moffett

Vernon J. "Barney" Moffett, age 74 of Upper Chichester, PA died on May 11, 2016. Born to the late Joseph & Doris Locke Moffett in Chester, PA, he was raised in Upland, PA. Vernon was a resident of Upper Chichester, PA for the past 3 years previously residing in Woodlyn, PA for many years. He was Operations Manager at K-mart for 25 years. He was known by many as "Mr. K-mart". A car enthusiast, he enjoyed collecting cars, especially muscle cars. He also was an avid Pool player and was known as "The Man to Beat". He enjoyed visiting the casinos, vacations in Ocean City, MD and his favorite establishment to have dinner was "Mario's" in O.C., MD. Barney is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Ann McGinn Moffett, a daughter, Amanda (Kurt) Sivak, twin sons, Ronald Moffett & Robert (Kelly Ann) Moffett, and 4 grandchildren, R.J., Nathan & Helena Moffett & Kurt Sivak Jr.. Funeral service will be held on Monday, 11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA where friends may call from 10-11AM. Interment will remain private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Olivet Presbyterian Church, 1001 Washington Ave., Prospect Park, PA 19076.
