Obituary of Barbara A. Massarelli

Barbara A. Massarelli (Babs), age 81, of Wilmington, DE died Sunday, May 22, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Marcus Hook, PA, where she resided for most of her life, Babs is the daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen (Opps) Barnett. Babs retired from the Chichester School District after 30 years of service as a cafeteria manager for the Boothwyn Elementary School. She was deeply enthusiastic about her family; her hobbies and favorite activities included visiting the casinos with her son, Joe, Sunday dinners at her daughter Janice's house, watching her great grandchildren, Max and Harper, play their video games, playing and viewing the Daily Number, and spending summer vacation at Wildwood Crest with family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Deep" Massarelli, her son, David Massarelli, and siblings, Nicholas and William Barnett and Jeanette MacFadyen. She is survived by her two children, Janice (Joseph) Chieffo and Joseph Massarelli, granddaughter, Stacie Chieffo-Bradley, with whom she resided, and two other grandchildren as well as three great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 9:00-10:15 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. Internment, Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Rosary Church at the above address
