Obituary of Frederick A. Parker
Frederick A. Parker, age 93 of Gwynedd Valley, PA passed away peacefully at his home on July 10, 2020. Fred was born on April 21, 1927 in Staten Island, NY. He resided for the past 40 years in Gwynedd Valley, PA. Fred served in the Army in the end stages of WWII before attending the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, where he earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a manager responsible for manned spaceflight at General Electric before founding several companies that developed new medical devices and safety equipment. These companies included Biomarine, Seatronics, Rampart, Ventrex, and Caldyne. Fred valued the long relationships he formed with his colleagues and spoke highly of them. In his spare time, Fred enjoyed sailing, reading God’s word, and spending time with his dear wife Millie and their family. Fred’s relationship with Christ inspired and supported him throughout his life. He attended Enfield Gospel Chapel in Enfield, PA for many years. In addition to his parents, Bufton and Edith Cooke Parker, Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Mae (née Trim, from Los Angeles), who passed away in 2008 and 2 siblings, Arthur and Roger Parker. He is survived by 7 children, Mary Lou (Brian) Jensen, Frederick W. (Julie) Parker, David (Christina) Parker, Richard (Lorene) Parker, Susan (Michael) Jensen, Kathie Parker, and Robert (Heather) Parker; brother, John Parker, sister, Elina Widtfeldt; 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, 9:00-10:00 am at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am (Livestreamed). Interment will be held at Beulah Cemetery, New Britain, PA followed by a luncheon at the William Penn Inn, Gwynedd, PA. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com
