Obituary of Andrew Murphy

Andrew F. "Murph" Murphy, age 55 of Garnet Valley, PA passed away suddenly on May 2, 2024, on his way to work. Born in Chester PA, Murph was a lifelong resident of Boothwyn, PA before moving to Garnet Valley 11 years ago.  Murph was a package handler for FedEx for the past 25 years. He graduated from Chichester High School, Class of 1986. Murph enjoyed hiking in the woods, going to the beach, spending time with his pets, Mayci, Milo and Oliver. Murph loved bike riding and was well know in the area for riding his bike where ever he would go. Murph is preceded in death by his parents, George and Winfred Vantine Murphy. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Denise L. Megonigal Murphy, step daughter, Brandy (Vincent) Miller, siblings, Denise (Raymond) LaGace, George Murphy Jr., Lisa Anne (Bill) MacFadyen and Annemarie Murphy, father in law, Lewis Megonigal and was a very proud grandfather of his granddaughter, Mia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, beginning at 11AM to 1PM at Brandywine Creek State Park Pavilion, 41 Adams Dam Road, Wilmington, DE followed by a celebration of life at 1:00PM (follow the signs and dress casual).
