To the Jacono family my condolences, Vito was just an all around great man. I have nothing but great memories of Vito growing up in Marcus hook. Vito bought me my first pair of football spikes as a kid. When I played for the Air Force in Japan I always told my teammates about him. His character was second to none. God was good to us to have someone like Vito in our lives. Now he walks with God. From Malvin Holmes and family

Vito was an amazing and wise mentor and friend. The class and character shown to me, and advice given changed my life. To have the honor to have been able to know him, work with him and learn from him, I will always be grateful and thankful for.
To be able to be involved with the Jacono family will always be a treasured memory and experience. What a legacy that Vito not only created but continued to strengthen.
To learn and work with Vito during the day, laugh and celebrate and talk about old times at night were really amazing. The things he has experienced, the impacts on our industry are significant, and the fingerprint on so many lives in unable to be “tallied.”
Wishing the family peace and knowledge of the reach of their husband, father and grandfather.
God called a good one home, and look forward to seeing you again! Love you Vito!

I have known Mr.J since Febuary of 1996.That's when I started working as a truck driver for his company, Bear Tubular Steel Inc.of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania. Affectionately know as "Mr.J" to all his employees, he was always pleasant and greeted everyone with a smile. Every time he would see me he would say,"how are you son"? "how's your wife and daughter"? Mr.J never told his employees that he was going to treat them like family, because we were all family to Mr.J and he never let you forget that. When I married my wife Bonnie in July of 1996,all the employees at Bear Tubular pitched in and gave us a very generous gift. That's the kind of company Mr.J built and he was truly one of a kind, he leaves behind a wonderful legacy. I will miss his smile, his friendship, and the way he would occasionally joke around with me if I didn't ride my motorcycle to work in the rain. When my mom passed he was at the viewing along with his son VJ, and another warehouse employee. That meant alot to me,and was yet another example of being part of a family at Bear Tubular. From the great Christmas parties, to the bond we all had working for such a good man, it was a pleasure coming to work every day. Thank you Mr.J for making my time at Bear Tubular such a memorable one. Rest easy Mr.J, it was my honor to know you and be a part of your family. Peace, Michael F Cartieri

Friend. Mentor. Role Model. Father Figure.
Vito, you were this and so much more to me. The 73 years I have known you is just not enough time. You were always there for me. It might be months after we had last spoken, but our conversations would pick right up where we had left off.
The time that you would spend with me when I was just a little guy growing up in Marcus Hook meant the world to me. Little things like helping you and your boys wash the car, helping you remodel the sandwich shop, painting the house (everybody painted with Sinclair Green), and you helping me learn how to drive. You made me feel like I was the most important person in your life; even though you were working two jobs and raising your own family.
It was an honor to know you, and I’ll miss you.
“See you Vito.”
“Love you Mike. Tell Janette and the girls I was asking for them.”
“Love you too.”
Rest in peace my friend.

My fiancé and I were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to sit and talk with this man once. Once was enough to feel such a presence across from me. He and his beautiful wife made us feel like we had been family friends forever. I am better for having known him, if for only a moment.
The legacy of what he has provided to the rest of us, in his family, is immeasurable.
I thank him for that. The world is certainly a better place with what he has kindly left here to share.
Sometimes, you have no idea just how far your family extends.
You got season tickets to the Eagles one day... and extended your family to mine.
Thank you Vito.

What an amazing man . I came to Marcus Hook and worked with him , I was a younger Texas girl completely out of my element but him and VJ took me under their wing and fed me and taught me so much . We argued a lot about football naturally but we always laughed everyday . My heart goes out to all the family . Rest in Peace .

I may have only known "Poppy" for a few years, but he never failed to put a smile on my face! He was such a family man who had a heart of gold - I remember, a day before Brenton and I were even engaged, he gave me a hug and told me he loved me and that I better say 'I love you' back because the Jacono family always says it back. He would also sing the 'Sara Smiles' song whenever we would go pay them a visit. He always made me feel like a part of the family. He will be missed dearly - I always enjoyed my time with him!

Vito Jacono is the ultimate example of America! Intelligent, competent, hard working, successful yet soft spoken and filled with compassion for others, Vito left a positive lasting impression on everyone with whom he came into contact. We all mourn the passing of Vito but his impact on our lives and communities will last forever. Sad condolences to Lois and the entire extended Jacono Family.
