Over these past 9 months from when my brother, Richard March died (May 2024) Wilbur and I got to know one another very well. He was a very interesting person to talk to, full of knowledge about art and antiques. He loved finding treasures. Wilbur liked to cook, garden and be one with nature. He loved his dogs (Lakota and Sioux) and his birds (Paco and Kelly). He enjoyed his beautiful home in Glen Mills, PA and his days teaching at Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia He loved hearing about what all the students were doing after their graduation He embraced being Native American (Iroquois). Wilbur looked at everything around him, observing their colors, shapes and meanings. It seemed as though everyone he would meet at Maris Grove would instantly like him. Wilbur we will see you and Richard in all the beauty we observe in the world. Rest well my brother-in-law. Cullen and I will miss you.

some photos of Wilbur's favorite things. Two of the etchings are recent while he was in the hospital. He loved gardening and quilting. He loved his birds and dogs. What beautiful paper sculptures. Also a very wonderful letter from a former student of Wilbur's, T.J. Phillips (Class of 08)

My sincerest condolences to Bill’s family on your loss. Bill (Mr. Crawford to me) was always kind and helpful to me, even when I didn’t deserve it, such was his understanding. He was always willing to share a keen eye, quick wit, a good joke or something of his experiences. Bill is legendary for his art and design acumen but also loved and remembered for what he was always giving away freely.
