To the Dodds Family; So sorry to hear of your loss of my friend Ed. Though I hadn't known him as long as some, but I got the picture early of what a fine man he was. I talked to him primarily at the FOE#74 on Thursday evenings, along with some of the other "Pennsy" retirees, shared a lot of laughs and got to meet some of his family. I truly will miss his jovial demeanor, his quick wit and the manner in which he lived his life. I believe Thornton Wilder said it best about losing a loved one:
"All that we can know about those we have loved and lost, is that they would wish us to remember them with a more intensified realization of their reality. What is essential does not die but clarifies. The highest tribute to the dead is not grief but gratitude."
