Obituary of Edward P Dodds

Edward P. Dodds, age 77, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born and raised in Clifton Heights, PA, but lived in North Wilmington for 50 years. For over 30 years, Edward worked for Amtrak as an electrician, and retired in 2002. Ed served in the Army. He was a man devoted to his faith and was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. Ed loved spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his great sense of humor, liked to laugh and have a good time. He enjoyed traveling, golf, Atlantic City, Harrah's, and weekly bingo and karaoke at the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In addition to his parents, James and Mary Carney Dodds, Ed is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Elaine (Meehan) Dodds who passed in 2009, and brothers James and Joseph Dodds. Ed is survived by his 4 children; Edward (Mary K), Elaine (Bruce) Davis, Renee Ewing, and Regina Dodds (David Wimer), 2 brothers; Charles and Aloysius Dodds, and 6 grandchildren; Casey, Bridget, and Bruce Davis, David and Bradley Wimer, and Andrew Brady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Tuesday evening, 6-8PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA 19060. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 9:00AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803. Interment will immediately follow to Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Bear, DE.
